Definition of Religion:

Religion is a complex and multifaceted system of beliefs, practices, values, and symbols through which human beings seek to understand, relate to, and respond to what they consider sacred, divine, or ultimately meaningful.
It provides an organized framework that explains the nature of existence, the origin and purpose of life, and the relationship between human beings, the universe, and a higher reality or ultimate truth.
Religion often addresses fundamental questions about life and death, good and evil, suffering and happiness, and offers moral guidance to shape human behavior and social relationships.

Religion typically includes belief in supernatural powers, gods, God, or an ultimate principle, along with sacred narratives, myths, scriptures, and traditions that convey these beliefs across generations.
It also involves rituals, worship, prayers, ceremonies, and ethical codes that help followers express devotion, maintain spiritual discipline, and live according to prescribed values.

Through these practices, religion fosters a sense of belonging and identity within a community, uniting individuals through shared faith, customs, and collective experiences.
Beyond personal faith, religion plays a significant role in shaping culture, art, law, education, and social institutions. It influences moral standards, inspires compassion and service, and provides comfort, hope, and meaning during times of crisis or uncertainty.

At the same time, religion encourages self-reflection, spiritual growth, and the pursuit of inner peace and harmony. In essence, religion is not merely a set of doctrines or rituals, but a living tradition that guides individuals and societies in understanding life’s deepest truths and in striving for moral and spiritual fulfillment.
